Certified Scrum Master®

The course with a total contact time of 16 hours is delivered in presence or in interactive online mode. The course is split in various modules, none of which exceeds two hours, with short breaks as needed and sufficiently long breaks between the sessions. The actual times for breaks are agreed upon in the group at the beginning of the course.

Pre-course and post-course activities are part of the training and are presented via our interactive online learning platform in various formats (video, text, quizzes, worksheets, further reading, ...).

In alignment with the group’s level of knowledge and the participants’ engagement, the agenda is adapted. A typical course is structured as follows.

• Scrum in the context of agility
• Introduction to Scrum
• ‘Active Principles’ of Scrum: why does it work?
• Scrum Team dynamics
• Scrum roles: Scrum Master, Product Owner, Developer
• Potential of the roles and challenges in living them

Day 2

• Scrum increment and its value
• Product Backlog and its lifecycle
• The five activities and the 3+ artefacts
• The limits of applicability of Scrum
• How to apply Scrum in organisations: case studies and typical pitfalls
• Elements of an agile organisation
• Optional: basic techniques for scaling agility

This course includes a certification issued by Scrum Alliance, Inc., 7237 Church Ranch Blvd. #Suite 410, Westminster, CO 80021, USA, as third party provider.

• Upon successful completion of the course, the trainer proposes you for certification to Scrum Alliance. You will then be contacted by Scrum Alliance by eMail to set up a protected personal user account in order to have access to the online exam and / or the certificate. • The CSM® exam contains 50 multiple-choice questions based on the CSM® Learning Objectives. After you pass the CSM® exam, you will be asked to accept the License Agreement and complete your Scrum Alliance membership profile. The certification is valid for two years.
