Two decades ago, it seemed to many that the age of the hero leader was passing. Now, in 2022, we find the political world increasingly in thrall to ‘strongman’ leaders. What are we to make of these developments, from a Host Leadership perspective? Are these strongmen simply acting as hosts for their people? Do they want to be heroes? How can we tell the difference? And how can we find ways to respond, challenge and act when working with those who are fearful for their future?
Host author Dr Mark McKergow shares his latest thinking and research in this fascinating opening session.
